Significance of Purim
“The name "Purim" comes from the Hebrew word "pur," meaning "lots," referring to the lots Haman cast to determine the date for the planned extermination of the Jews. Instead of destruction, that day became a celebration of victory and survival. Purim symbolizes the themes of courage, faith, and the hidden presence of God in the events of history, as the divine name is notably absent from the Book of Esther.” -Aish.com
